How to report an unresponsive power distribution company (DisCo)


If you are experiencing issues with your electricity supply or charges, follow these steps under the Customer Complaints Redress Mechanism of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) to resolve the issue:

  • Step 1: Make a complaint to the Customer Complaints Unit (CCU) of the Distribution Company (DisCo) responsible for supplying electricity to your area.
  • Step 2: If the issue is not resolved or you are not satisfied with the outcome, refer your complaint to the NERC Consumer Forum via https://nerc.gov.ng/forum-offices/.
  • Step 3: If you are not satisfied with the ruling of the Forum, escalate the complaint to NERC by submitting a complaint with all supporting documents via https://nerc.freshdesk.com/support/tickets/new.
