Book train online for Lagos-Ibadan


Introduction

The Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) has introduced an e-ticketing platform for the Lagos-Ibadan train route to streamline the booking process and make it convenient for passengers to secure their train tickets on the day or a day ahead of their trip from the comfort of their homes.

What you need

  • National Identification Number (NIN)

How to book

  • Visit the e-ticketing platform at https://nrc.gsds.ng/login.
  • Select “Register” and enter your details, including your NIN, to sign up.
  • After successful registration, sign in to the platform using your email address and password to access the booking system. You can only book a one-way ticket.
  • Select the originating and destination stations.
  • Select your desired journey date.
  • Click on the Find My Train button to show available trains for your trip.
  • Select train and coach. (e.g. Business, Standard, First)
  • Click on the dropdown (below Please select a coach), to see coach details.
  • Select a coach, pick a seat, and fill in all the passenger details.
  • After providing all the necessary information, click the “Make Payment” button to initiate the payment process and book your ticket.
  • Once you complete all the steps, a QR-based ticket will be generated and sent to your mail. You can also access your booked tickets in your booking history.

Payment

The price of tickets is as follows:

  • Standard class: N3,000.00 (for children) and N3,600.00 (for adults)
  • Business class: N6,500.00 (for both children and adults)
  • First-class: N9,000.00 (for both children and adults)

All payments are made online. Ensure you keep your transaction emails or messages secure and ready for presentation/verification at the train station.
