The National Identification Number (NIN) has become an important requirement in accessing many public and private sector services in Nigeria. To easily check and retrieve your NIN, you will require a phone number used during registration, however, you can follow these alternative steps to retrieve it if your phone number is not accessible:
Retrieve NIN using the NIMC mobile app
- Download the app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store on your phone
- If you have previously registered, log in with your credentials. If not, you can register using your details.
- Once logged in, you should see your NIN displayed on your profile page within the app.
Retrieve NIN from the NIMC office
- Find the nearest NIMC enrollment center via https://nimc.gov.ng/nimc-enrolment-centres/.
- Visit the center with a valid identification document, such as your voter’s card, driver’s license, or passport.
- Inform the official that you need to retrieve your NIN. Your identity will be verified using the identification document, and your NIN will be retrieved from their database.
