Introduction
If you are 16 years old or older and are interested in flying an unmanned drone, whether, for leisure or commercial purposes in Nigeria, you must register for one of the following operational permits or licenses: an open permit (for recreational drones), a specific permit (for drones used in small-scale businesses weighing between 25 kg and 150 kg), or a certified permit (for drones used in large-scale activities, usually weighing 150 kg or more).

How to apply
For Open Operation
- Visit http://rpas.ncaa.gov.ng/ to register and fill out the drone details
- Pay the registration fee online
- You will receive an email containing your unique identity number
For Specific or Certified Operation
- Visit http://rpas.ncaa.gov.ng/ to register and fill out the drone details
- Upload letter of Intent
- Fill out your company details
- Pay the registration fee online
- Fill out the registration form sent to your email and submit it to NCAA
- Attend the ONSA screening exercise
- Take part in the demonstration/inspection phase
- Receive certification
Payment
The cost for a drone permit is N500,000.00, payable online or at designated banks.
